Ross1000 & ISTAT reporting

Automatic Ross1000 and ISTAT reporting for rentals in Italy

Maurice automatically sends your guest movements to your region’s ISTAT tourism-statistics portal: Ross1000 and related portals, Istrice in Marche, and Turismo5 in Tuscany for the provinces of Florence, Pistoia and Prato. The data comes from the online check-in, so nobody has to type it in twice.

  • Automatic, on-time submission
  • Ross1000 and related portals
  • Marche (Istrice) and Tuscany (Turismo5)
  • Same data used for Alloggiati Web

Tourism statistics without opening the portal

ISTAT reporting is repetitive and easy to forget, especially if you manage your rental from abroad. Maurice does it for you, automatically.

Always on time

Maurice submits guest movements to your region’s portal automatically, even when you’re travelling, on holiday or living in another country.

Supported regional portals

Ross1000 and related portals in nine regions, plus Marche (Istrice) and Tuscany (Turismo5, provinces of Florence, Pistoia and Prato).

Entered once

Guest data comes from the online check-in and the IDs collected and checked there: the same data used for Alloggiati Web, with no double entry.

What the rules require, in short

Accommodation providers in Italy must report guest movements (arrivals and overnight stays, with where guests come from) for ISTAT’s official tourism statistics, through the portal chosen by their Region. In several regions this also applies to tourist rentals, not just hotels and B&Bs. Who must report, how often and by when depends on regional rules, so check your Region’s tourism portal or ask your local tourism office. If you’re new to Italian rental terms, our short-term rental glossary explains them.

How it works

  1. 01

    Enter your regional portal credentials

Your property’s credentials for Ross1000, Istrice or Turismo5 go into Maurice once.

  2. 02

    Guests check in online

With the online check-in for rentals in Italy, guest data arrives complete, with IDs collected and checked, before arrival.

  3. 03

    Maurice submits for you

Guest movements are sent automatically to your region’s portal, on time.

  4. 04

    You stay in control

You can log into the regional portal at any time to check what was sent or to handle any extra requirements your region sets.

Who it’s for

Owners and managers with properties in the supported regions, especially those who manage from abroad and can’t log into an Italian portal every day: see software for property managers, B&Bs and guesthouses and the digital receptionist for hotels. In the same check-in, Maurice also handles tourist tax collection, and our guide to managing an Airbnb in Italy remotely puts it all together.

Frequently asked questions

What is Ross1000?

Ross1000 is the web portal several Italian regions use to collect tourism-movement data from accommodation providers for ISTAT, the national statistics institute. The property records guest arrivals and departures, and the portal produces the official statistics. Maurice sends this data automatically, so you don’t need to log in and enter it by hand.

Which regions are supported?

Ross1000 and related portals in Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Liguria, Lazio, Abruzzo, Calabria and Sardinia; Istrice in Marche; Turismo5 in Tuscany for the provinces of Florence, Pistoia and Prato. Campania (Sinfonia/SMART) is coming soon. For any other region, contact us.

Do I need to keep track of the ISTAT deadlines?

No. Maurice sends the guest movements recorded through the check-in automatically and on time. Official deadlines are set by each Region and may differ from those of Alloggiati Web. Check your Region’s rules on its tourism portal, because some Regions may also ask for additional periodic reports.

Do I have to enter guest data twice, for Alloggiati Web and ISTAT?

No. Guests enter their details and upload their IDs once, in Maurice’s online check-in. From there Maurice files the registrations with Alloggiati Web and sends the movements to your region’s ISTAT portal. You don’t retype anything, either for the police or for the Region.

My property is in Campania. Can I use Maurice already?

Yes. You can already use Maurice for guest messaging, online check-in, Alloggiati Web and tourist tax collection, and automatic submission to Sinfonia/SMART is coming soon.
